Learn from the past. Invest in the present. Shape the future.
To shape the future of veterinary medicine, we must first mold future leaders. SVP understands the challenges that students face as they work toward becoming credentialed veterinarians. From mounting student loan debt and demanding study schedules to a lack of hands-on training, there’s no shortage of opportunity to improve the student experience.
SVP is here to help you prepare for life after graduation. Apply for one of our student programs and find out what clinical life is really like. Earn money to help pay for tuition. Gain practical experience in various areas of veterinary medicine. Meet experienced professionals and discover potential future employment opportunities.
Gain Hands-On Experience with SVP GO
SVP GO, our 2 – 4 week training program for students, provides future veterinarians the opportunity to put their class room skills to work in an active clinical environment. Summer jobs are available for first through third year students looking to gain experience in a hospital setting while fourth year students are encouraged to partner with us to complete their final year externships. As the fastest growing veterinary organization in the country, we have the resources to create unique opportunities for students who express interest in a particular area of veterinary medicine.
Scrub-in and assist with surgical procedures. Work with clinics that specialize in avian and exotics medicine. Experience an emergency medical center first hand. SVP will help fine-tune your technical skills under the careful guidance of our most experienced veterinarians.
Paid Student Consultant Program
Each year, SVP selects ambitious, community-driven veterinary students to participate in our paid student consultant program. Student consultants assist SVP with organizing and promoting seminars, networking events, and other learning opportunities for students within the guidelines of the university.
Our student consultant program is a paid position that allows students to observe clinical environments, meet potential employers, and support fellow students who may be looking for training or career opportunities by speaking honestly from experience.
Don’t just take our word for it.
